Hot Buttery Buns

For breakfast, a snack, or a side plate with a meal, the hot buttery buns will bring the aroma of fresh baked bread to your home.  For breakfast, they make a nice alternative to toast.  For a snack, you can have them with cheese or something sweet.  They can also be used to make mini sandwiches or mini burgers.


– 1 package Betty Brown’n Serve Buns
– 5 Tbs butter

– Preheat oven at 175 °C (350 °F)
– Melt butter
– Brush melted butter on sides and top of bun
– Place buns an inch apart on a cookie sheet
– Brown in the oven for 4 minutes
– Serve hot or cold

Hints and Variations

– To keep the buns crispy, do not put browned buns back in plastic bag
– To preserve the browned buns more than one day, store them back in the original bag
– To make garlic buttery buns, add fresh garlic, garlic powder or garlic salt to the butter before brushing

Cinnamon Buns

Betty Brown’n Serve buns can easily be transformed into cinnamon buns, which make an easy low cost snack or dessert.  These delicious cinnamon buns take minutes to prepare and cook.  They are great served warm and make a great lunch box snack  too.


– 1 package Betty Brown’n Serve Buns
– 7 Tbs butter
– 1/2 cub brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon

– Preheat oven at 175 °C (350 °F)
– Grease an oven proof dish that fit the buns snugly
– Place the buns in the dish without separating them
– Cut a little hole from the top of the bun and use a spoon to remove the ‘buttons’
– Melt the butter
– Add brown sugar and cinnamon to the butter
– Warm the mixture in the microware for 30 seconds and stir
– Brush the sugar mixture all over the buns and in the holes
– Put the ‘buttons’ back in the holes
– Brown in the oven for 10 minutes
– Serve hot or cold

Hints and Variations

– To preserve the cinnamon rolls more than one day, store them back in the original bag
– Once the buns are cool, they can be reheated for best flavor in the microware (about 10 seconds per roll)

Betty’s Chicken Pot Pie

Betty Brown’n Serve Buns can be used similar to dumplings in this delicious and easy recipe.  This one dish meal is well balanced and very satisfying.


– 1/2 package Betty Brown’n Serve Buns
– 4 250ml cans of condensed cream of chicken soup
– 1 cup frozen peas
– 1 cup carrots (fresh cooked, or frozen)
– 1 cup of milk
– 2 chicken breasts (cut up and cooked) or equivalent
– 1/4 cup bread crumbs or shake’n bake style crumbs

– Preheat oven at 175 °C (350 °F)
– Combine in saucepan soup, milk, vegetables (peas and carrots or other combination of choice) and cooked chicken
– Heat the soup mixture on medium, stirring occasionally, until it boils
– Pour in an oven proof dish, being careful as the mixture is very hot
– Cut the buns in half and place them cut side down
– Sprinkle with bread crumbs or other topping
– Bake for 20 minutesSave
